American made, {machine and hand} woven baby slings, as versatile & classy as you are. Textiles curated & finished in rural Vermont. Poetry in motion!

For this baby wrap, we had no farther to look then the wonderfully vibrant world of fashion. The chevron motif has been one of the most popular geometric patterns that and has been used in a multitude of media as of late. Whether it be in such home décor forms as, rugs, pillows, draperies, upholstery fabric, or in other forms such as gift wrap, shoes, dresses, purses, socks, ties, etc. It makes quite a bold statement and brings life into whatever medium it is on.

Chevron Dapper is quite dapper indeed, the perfect Daddy wrap in fact, though handsomely striking for mom and grandma as well.

The weave of this one is quite unique and has me very excited. The warp actually consists of not one, not two, but FOUR different threads; two neutral and two color. This make-up of the textile yields a very warp-dominant weave.

This wrap is significantly thicker and heavier than previous wraps from the Signature collection, and thus we recommend it for babies and toddlers 10 pounds and above. Also notable, given the thickness of the wrap, Dapper may wrap shorter, also, the knot this hefty textile yields will be quite substantial. As such, we recommend ordering a size up.

One unique quality this mill offers is their finishing. Poe wraps from this mill will arrive ready to wear, i.e, not in "loom state". The process used essentially a warm soaking of water to remove excess sizing put on during weaving, and to then set the fabric with high levels of heat, (no chemicals or additives are used in this process). This in turn will make the fabric softer and more durable for end uses.

Please be sure to review safety guidelines and instructions. Also, wraps will arrive in "loom state", and as such, we recommend that you wash before use as follows:

  • Wash on the gentle cycle in cold water, with a liquid detergent
  • Tumble dry on low, (I like to to add wool dryer or tennis balls, but they are not necessary)
  • Finish with a steam iron on the cotton setting before use. Up to (approx.) 10% shrinkage is customary

*This is a final sale of a prototype wrap and comes as is. Woven wraps available in the vault will be the last ever wraps available for sale from Poe Wovens.*
